Farm worker allegedly throws poison in milk

A farm worker allegedly threw Gramoxine/ Paraquat (herbicide) also known as paraquat into a milk tank on his employer’s farm Sambre in the Riversdale area, that could have caused the death of almost 2000 people.

The worker, Andries Stoffels (37) was arrested after the incident on February 7. He appeared in court on a charge of malicious damage to property.

Stoffels will again appear in court on March 31.
