On 18 April 2025, a joint intelligence-driven operation involving Durban Metro Police and other law enforcement stakeholders led to the successful interception of a vehicle linked to a string of crimes in the Hillcrest area.
The vehicle was spotted in the Umbilo area before moving onto the N3 and later the N2 South. Metro Police intercepted the white Golf 6 TSI at the Umbogintwini offramp.
Two suspects were arrested and detained at Hillcrest SAPS. Charges include:
Count 1: Housebreaking
Count 2: Theft
The vehicle was also previously used in the transport of individuals involved in motor vehicle theft.
