Storytelling has always been at the forefront for Isaac Lekgothoane as he graces us with his new eBook filled with intriguing short stories. Raised by parents who encouraged reading as a means to understand one’s surroundings and classroom content for educational purposes.
His humble beginnings hail from the Limpopo province in Ga-Mothapo with surrounding areas like Mankweng township where he completed his studies at University of Limpopo with subjects that included writing as a core function.
Isaac has always been inspired by emerging writers in his community and he eventually published one of his short stories at a small publishing house in Polokwane. He set his mind to publishing content worldwide to make an impact and promote his South African grassroots as inspired by prominent authors in the world.
As Isaac describes his debut book Only If I Can Sing: Short Stories “It’s a collection of brief narratives featuring the experiences and distinctive tales of Indigenous individuals within various communities. The stories are presented in both English and Sepedi languages, aiming to encourage, comprehend, and communicate within South African languages, incorporating diverse dialects”.
This collection of short stories promises to take the reader on a journey full of mystery and thrilling action-packed scenery. Promoting brand South Africa as a nation with more stories to tell the world. This book delves into the daily lives of ordinary communities, the challenges they encounter to survive, and continue to seek their freedom in the volatile economic landscape.
