At 12H47 on Friday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a school in the Phoenix area of KwaZulu-Natal for a shooting incident.
Reports from the scene indicate that an eighteen-year-old- boy was shot by a fellow student on the school field. Exact detail to the incident however, will remain a subject for police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the boy to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
The advanced Life Support paramedic and her team worked fervently at the scene to stabilise the child before he was transported to a specialised hospital for the care that he required.
