Members of KZNVIP Together with RUSA, SBA and other emergency services responded to the scene.
Upon arrival it is believed that a white polo was travelling infront of the victim and as they approached a stop street, two to three African Males got off the vehicle and opened fire at the victims.
The suspects then abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene in an unconfirmed direction. A bodyguard was also shot during this incident.
The two patients were rushed rapidly by KZNVIP Medics to medical facilities for further medical attention.
Circumstances leading up to the crash cannot be confirmed at this stage pending saps investigation.
All emergency services were in attendance.
