Man stabbed while seated in a vehicle at Verulam Testing Ground

A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the chest while seated in his vehicle in a parking lot opposite the Verulam Testing Ground on Jabu Ngcobo Road in Verulam – KZN.

The injured male sped off after the incident and sought assistance from a resident of Colchester Crescent on Ottawa – KZN who contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA). Reaction Officers and Paramedics were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene at approximately 16:43.

The victim was discovered seated in his white Renault Sandero. He explained that two men dressed in blue overalls approached his vehicle that was idling while he was in the process of making a phone call. They grabbed him through an open window before stabbing him in the chest and assaulting him on his face.

The injured male managed to drive off during the attack. It could not be confirmed if the suspects intended on robbing him or hijacking his vehicle.

Paramedics treated the man for his injuries before transporting to hospital by ambulance.
