On 2017-01-11 Cradock K9 Search and Rescue Unit attended a scene at Cradock where a truck overturned trying to cross a flooded river flowing over the Hofmeyr Road, 25 km from Cradock.
A report was received of people including children that was stuck in a tree in the river. On arrival, a farmer reported that the victims were taken to safety.
The truck driver was rescued. Cradock K9 Search and Rescue further assisted the local authorities warning community and farmers living close to the Fish River bank regarding the river coming down in flood.
