Dead matriculants writing exams

Die Vryburger

The Department of the Interior has one way or another to explain why 275 pupils are declared dead.

There is great unhappiness in the Eastern Cape after a school found out that about 200 of the students, who have to write matric this year, will not be able to do so until the department remedies the mess, and declare that the pupils are in fact alive.

The incompetence was confirmed by the Eastern Cape education MEC Mandla Makhuphula.

Some of the students already had identity documents, but they were coincidentally declared dead.

Apparently, the Department believe it is the safest way to determine if a person is alive or dead and do so every six months.
