67-Year-old woman throat slit, body found near beach – Munster

A brutal murder with unknown motives stunned the residents of Munster, South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. On Friday afternoon, a 67-year-old woman, Derry Gerryts, a resident of Mbabalo Lodge, drove her car to the Munster beach with the intention of taking her Yorkshire terrier dog for a walk.

She parked her car at the beach, and it appears as though she was forced out from her car, and attacked by unknown ruthless suspects. Her throat was slit and she suffered multiple stab wounds that killed her.

A passerby found her lifeless body, on the steps down toward the beach. Her car was nearby. The Yorkshire terrier and car keys were still inside.

According to a spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, there is confirmation that the woman was found by someone walking their dog.

The police are investigating the circumstances surround the horrific killing and reports indicate that no arrests have yet been made.
