A woman was killed and several other people were seriously injured following a collision on the R102 at the Canelands intersection a short while ago.
At approximately 19:43 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival found that a BMW and a Toyota Corolla were involved in the collision.
One occupant of the Toyota Corolla was killed on impact. Two other woman and a baby who were also in the vehicle, were seriously injured in the side impact collision.
The occupants of the BMW suffered moderate injuries. Several ambulance services and the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services responded to the scene were the injured were stabilized before being transported to hospital.
It is alleged that the Toyota Corolla was traveling from Tongaat and was turning into Canelands when the BMW, which was traveling from Verulam towards Tongaat collided into it.
