Two alleged drug dealers have been arrested and drugs worth about R2.5 million confiscated in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
In an eThekwini inner south policing cluster intelligence-driven operation together with the Durban organised crime unit and Shongweni K9 unit the two were arrested on Thursday night, police said in a statement.
“The planned raid recovered 4000 Mandrax tablets, two packets of cocaine, and 9kg of heroin at one of the suspect’s home in Paul Avenue, Reservoir Hills. The team also recovered a bag of empty pink and clear capsules and six heroin capping trays which were being used to produce heroin capsules at the home. Both suspects have been charged for dealing in drugs.”
eTthekwini inner south cluster commander Maj-Gen Keerath Nunkumar commended the officers for their excellent and swift reaction to arrest the drug dealers as well as recovering a large amount of cocaine and heroin.
“We will be planning numerous drug raiding operations to drastically reduce the drug trafficking in order to keep the communities of our eThekwini inner south area drug free,” he said.
