Two men aged 35 and 38 were arrested today on Tuesday 18 October at Lephengville in Temba, North of Pretoria.
The suspects hijacked a 34-year old man’s vehicle carrying clothes and other material including undisclosed amount of cash. The incident happened at Stinkwater.
The police came accross the suspects towards the bushes and they left the car and got inside a blue VW polo and drove off in high speed.
Police chased the suspects until Lephengville where they arrested them.
Police recovered another vehicle inside the garage at the home of one of the suspect’s girlfriend, a black Toyota Yaries that was hijacked in Rustenburg on 30 September.
It is alleged that the owner of the vehicle was dragged during hijacking and woke up today in hospital.
The suspects are facing charges of hijacking, robbery and possession of stolen motor vehicle and will appear at the Moretele Magistrate court soon. No one was injured during the incident and no shots fired.
