Two suspects arrested after Port Elizabeth shop robbery

On October 8, 2016 at about 07:20 a 31 year old shop owner was held at gunpoint by two suspects who entered his shop in Gould Street, Sidwell, Port Elizabeth.

The shop owner was able to fought off the suspects and he immediately pressed the panic alarm and within minutes armed response and police arrived.

The suspects, both 25 years old were apprehended by members of the K9 Unit and Flying Squad.

A 9mm pistol was also seized. The suspects are alleged to be from New Brighton and were detained on charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

They are expected to appear in court on Monday, 10 October 2016.
