The naval exercises that are starting on Friday are a follow-up to the first drills of the kind. In 2019, the three countries held joint exercises near Cape Town, South Africa. In an earlier interview with Sputnik, South Africa’s Ambassador to Moscow expressed hope that joint naval drills in such a format would be continued on an annual basis.
