Car crash after Marlboro shooting

On Wednesday evening, just before 6pm, EMER-G-MED paramedics responded to reports of a shooting on the corner of Marlboro Drive and South Road in Marlboro – north of Johannesburg.

It was reported by witnesses that a unknown gunmen shot a taxi owner, who was driving a Toyota SUV. The SUV then veered into oncoming traffic and collided with two other vehicles head-on.

On arrival paramedics found that the taxi owner had succumbed to his injuries – and declared him dead on the scene. Five other people sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries before they were transported to various nearby hospitals for further treatment and trauma counselling.

The South African Police Services were in attendance to conduct a full investigation into the events surrounding the shooting.
