A 25-year-old male was arrested on Thursday 23 December 2021, at about 14:30 for possession of suspected stolen vehicle.
It is alleged that on 21 December 2021, at about 13:40 the complainant parked his vehicle at Prinsloo scrap yard in Sasolburg with the keys in the vehicle and the window slightly open.
The complainant went into the scrap yard for a few minutes and when he returned his vehicle was stolen.
A case of Theft of Motor Vehicle was registered at Sasolburg SAPS.
SAPS members received information on the suspects’ whereabouts which led them to a house in Jansen Street where the suspect was arrested in his home for being in possession of the stolen vehicle’s car keys.
On the same day the vehicle was recovered at Zio cash and carry parking area in Sasolburg.
The suspect still remains in custody and will appear at the Sasolburg magistrate court soon.
