An intelligence driven operation was conducted on 22 November 2021, by the Ilembe District Task Team, Crime Intelligence and Umhlali Task Team.
The team was following up on information about a suspected stolen motor vehicle that was noticed in KwaDukuza town.
An operation was put in place and the vehicle was spotted at the KwaMaphumulo bus rank in KwaDukuza. A 26-year-old male occupant was found inside the vehicle.
He was placed under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle.
The preliminary investigation conducted at the scene revealed that the vehicle was stolen while parked on Theunissen Road in KwaDukuza on 12 August 2021.
The suspect is appearing before the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court.
