Five Ennerdale schools set to benefit school uniforms from PPC
In a bid to assist learners and create a bigger impact in keeping learners in the classroom, PPC and Al Taawun Fi Al Centre identified five schools in the Ennerdale area to assist with school uniforms. The recipients are Motheo Foundation Phase Primary School, Poseidon Primary School, Mid Ennerdale, Fred Norman High School and Oden Park Primary School. Valued at R88 000 the uniforms will empower 1 000 unprivileged learners to experience a better quality of life and empower them for the future.
As a 100% local company that provides 100% quality cement and building materials, PPC’s ongoing engagement with the communities it operates in has propelled the business to empower the Ennerdale community to experience a better quality of life. PPC remains optimistic about the opportunities that exist in the socio-economic landscape and our education system.
Gavin Gouws, Sales Manager at PPC explains, “Empowerment at PPC is living our brand promise of STRENGTH BEYOND daily. The right to education is a basic human right however some children are deprived of it due to the hardships and difficult circumstances they live in. With this donation of school uniforms to 1 000 learners we hope it will keep learners in the classroom and give learners a purpose to achieve their dreams”.
In recognition of the basic needs in the communities in which we operate, we have continued to work with communities in a sustainable manner. The partners have come together to give the learners and schools a sustainable value that encourages them to experience a better quality of life. The business’ efforts have been a welcomed contribution in the schools as school learners won’t drop out of school because of lack of tools.
Hassim Phosa, Founder and Project Director at Al Taawun Fi Al Centre, said the centre had partnered with PPC in different projects before where food, face masks, sanitizers and sanitary packages were donated to the centre and we are now investing more in the education of children. PPC has shown support to the less privileged since our partnership with them and we are truly grateful and hope we will continue empowering our communities together.
Committed to addressing this immediate challenge, PPC, a business that exists to empower the community to experience a better quality of life, remains steadfast in its commitment to providing something of enduring value through its 100% local products with 100% quality for all its customers and communities.
The Principal Thomas Mokele at Motheo Foundation Primary school said, “We thank PPC and Al Taawun Fi Al Centre for the school uniforms donated, we know there are more children who will stand confidently and boldly knowing they have a clean and bright set of uniforms. Thank you for securing, recognizing and equipping to shape the future of our future leaders,”
“Our partnership with Al Taawun Fi Al allows the Ennerdale community to experience the PPC brand promise, STRENGTH BEYOND. We believe that by working with the centre today, we take the critical steps to ensure a better tomorrow for us all,” concluded Gouws.
