Farm attack: Night of terror in Elandsfontein as 6 smallholdings attacked

A black gang of serial farm attackers terrorized the Elandsfontein smallholdings area in the Gauteng province of South Africa on Wednesday night 30 September 2020 and attacked at least six smallholdings. They split up during the course of the night to do more attacks and stayed ahead of the security company serving the area which was trying to catch up with the gang.

The modus operandi of the gang was exactly the same as the modus operandi of the panga gang which is busy with a reign of terror in the Broederstroom and Skeerpoort areas.

This gang also attacked two farms 2 weeks ago and targeted 5 houses of farm workers in the area. The same gang executed 6 farm attacks in the same area in the beginning of September 2020.

On Wednesday night the gang moved in three areas namely the Welgegund, Skurweberg and Malvick areas. They used the same tactic throughout the night. They violently attacked houses of workers to make workers scream to lure the farm owner out of his house.
Arthur Crewe of HRU security company told the media that one farm owner went out of his house on Wednesday night and he was shot at and almost hit.

The following is a summary of attacks in Broederstroom/Skeerpoort during the month of September 2020.

– An all out campaign of terror directed at farms in Skeerpoort/Broederstroom, North West rage out of control.

– Five households on 2 farms were violently attacked by a black gang armed with pangas and guns on Monday night 14 September 2020.

– Women were assaulted, a man shot 5 times and another man stabbed in his head and made to sit on coals in latest attacks.

– It is suspected to be the same gang who also executed 6 farm attacks in the same area in the beginning of September 2020.

– Pres Ramaphosa has never retracted his statement to Bloomberg News in 2018 that there are no farm attacks in South Africa.
