Five Japanese Cars with Strange and Unusual Names

Five Japanese Cars with Strange and Unusual Names

Japan is the land of the interesting and exotic, and sometimes that translates to the names they give to their car models.

The Japanese have given us amazing cars with unique names, like the Nissan Fairlady series of sports cars, and models like the venerable Nissan GTR and Honda NSX. However, their naming of vehicle models sometimes yield results that are less-than-desirable. Here are the top five Japanese car models with interesting names:

1. Mazda Titan Dump

Mazda decided to name their truck the “Titan”, which is an extremely inspiring name. But things took an… explosive turn when they decided to name the dump-truck variant of their model as the “Titan Dump”.

All we can think of is today’s major regret from last night’s mala dinner.

2. Mitsubishi MUM 500 Shall We Join Us?

Yes, the question mark is part of the model name. No, we don’t understand what the name means either.

Maybe MUM knows the answer to this cryptic question: Shall we join us?

3. Honda That’s

We suspect that the marketing man behind this nameplate must have suffered from a fatal heart attack halfway through naming this car. Or perhaps he saw something horrifying and was trying to warn us. Either way, he never got his message across.

That’s… what? Don’t leave us hanging, Honda! We have to know.

4. Isuzu Mysterious Utility Wizard

Isuzu wants you to know that its pickup truck-based SUV isn’t just a car–its a wizard. A mysterious utility wizard. What ever that means.

Finally, we have the last weird model name in our list, and we think this one really takes the cake:

5. Nissan Homy Super Long

Just to make sure you didn’t misread, this is the Nissan H-O-M-Y. Nissan wants you to have a good time, that’s why it produced this van, so that you can tell everyone you have a Homy that is Super Long.

Apparently, if you have a Super Long Homy, you can take up to 15 people at one go!
