South African Police Service

Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma, sent out a strong warning to those who think they can take chances and traffic drugs. All Law Enforcement Agencies are working around the clock to eliminate and prevent all criminal activities.

On Monday 4 May 2020, SANDF members were conducting their duties when they noticed a white Toyota Double Cab bakkie approaching. When the driver of the bakkie became aware of these members, he stopped at a distance, alighted the bakkie and fled the scene on foot.

The members searched inside the vehicle and discovered dagga worth about R1 000 000, in street value. Police opened an inquiry into the matter and also launched a manhunt in this regard. The dagga as well as the bakkie were confiscated.

The police urge members of the public to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect who abandoned his bakkie which was loaded with dagga. The public can provide such information by calling 10111 or send SMS’s to 32211. Members of the community can also anonymously call 08600 10111.

Alternatively information can be shared with police via MYSAPS APP and their information will be treated with strictest of confidence.
