The lightning fast response from the Roodepan SAPS Detective unit ensured the arrest of a 29 year old man for the possession of suspected stolen goods. On Thursday, 17 October 2019 at about 07:00 the detectives received information and pounced on alleged copper thieves, in a veld close to Lerato Park.

Police chased after the suspects and managed to arrest one while the other three males are still at large. The approximate street value of the bakkie-load of copper is R400 000.

Another charge of tampering with, damaging or destroying of essential infrastructure was also added to the case. The suspect should appearing in court soon, however police request that anyone with information should please contact D/Const Samuel Modise on 053 807 5500, with any information regarding the incident.
