A 19 year old male was arrested just after midnight for the illegal possession of an unlicensed and stolen firearm. This followed after Motherwell Cluster Operational Command Centre (OCC) members spotted and searched a suspicious group of young men standing in Hlawuli Street, Zwide at 00:05.
One of the males had an unlicensed firearm a 7.65mm pistol in his possession.
It was also established that the firearm was reported stolen in July 2018 in Kwazakhele.The suspect was arrested for the illegal possession of an unlicensed and stolen firearm and will appear before the New Brighton Magistrates Court on 17 January 2019.
