A 24 year old suspect will appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Court for the alleged murder of a 24 year old victim.
The suspect’s appearance in court follows his arrest on Friday, 4 May 2018 by the police in Ikageng. According to information received, a quarrel ensued between the victim and the suspect who were both allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Consequently, the pair fought and the victim was assaulted him with a wooden pick handle. It is further alleged that the suspect took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the victim once on his chest.
Members of Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) were summoned and certified the victim dead. The suspect was arrested. Investigation into the matter continues.
