Swift response by the police to a business robbery led to the arrest of nine gang members, the recovery of four unlicensed firearms and seizure of two vehicles suspected to have been used during the commission of the crime.

Police were alerted about the business robbery in progress at one Country Club on the evening of Sunday, 11 March 2018. Upon police arrival at the crime scene, a shootout ensued which resulted to the arrest of six suspects.

A multidisciplinary team comprising of various police units was assembled to expedite the search for five remaining suspects and firearms. Within few hours three more suspects were arrested bringing the number of arrests to nine, four unlicensed firearms were recovered, two vehicles suspected to have been used during the commission of crime were pounded.

Police also recovered 14 phones cellular phones and two wallets inside one of the seized vehicles. The phones and wallets are believed to have been taken from the customers and employees during the business robbery.

It is alleged that the complainant was in his office when he was confronted by the armed suspects who demanded money. Undisclosed amount of cash was taken by the suspects who then proceeded to rob customers their belongings, which include wallets and cellular phones. Victims were not injured during the ordeal although most suffered some trauma.

Police continue to hunt for the remaining suspects and are urging the community to come forth with information that can help in the investigation or the arrest of the suspects.
