IPID investigate ‘excessive force’ Ngcobo church shooting

Die Vryburger

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) are investigating the use of excessive “force” at the shooting incident where police were involved at a church with the suspected Ngcobo shooters.

During the incident, seven people were shot dead, apparently including an unarmed minor.

It was in response to the incident last week when seven people were shot dead at a police station.

The police commissioner informed community leaders that police had made an example of those who attack police stations.

Observers say, however, that should a farmer kill 7 suspected terrorists who attack his house and threaten his family’s life, that all politicians and prosecutors would attack him and accuse him of murder or manslaughter.
