On Wednesday, 21 February 2018, at 06:30, a Search party consisting of various K9 Units as well as Mthatha Mounted Unit was formed to search a forest near Sulenkama for missing Search and Rescue dog, Olive.
The dog went missing on Sunday evening.
At approx 09:15, Olive was spotted underneath a low cliff in thick bushes by members of the search group. The dog was stuck there and could not get out. The members than assisted her.
She was free from injuries and still full of energy.
Her handler, Constable Katikati was present and the member was extremely happy to find his partner alive and well.
