A Metro Policeman has been shot and killed in his vehicle near Mount Moriah on the R102.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by the public reporting the incident. Upon arrival, authorities were on scene and the Officer was declared deceased by paramedics from a private ambulance service.
He was dressed in his Police uniform. The Officer was shot in the chest and died in the driver’s seat of his VW Golf.
Circumstances surrounding the murder are unclear at this stage however it is alleged that the Warrant Officer who was based in KwaMashu may have been the victim of a botched hijacking. He was allegedly on his was way to buy something to eat when the shooting occurred.
No suspects have been arrested at this stage.
