A woman was attacked by four armed robbers Monday morning, October 26, 2015, in broad daylight on a farm near Lephalale in Limpopo.

COL. Ronel Otto police spokesperson, said four suspects entered the home about 10:40 on the farm Grootfontein and detained Magrieta Fourie. The robbers wore balaclavas and had firearms on them.

Ben Engelbrecht, a spokesperson of Die Spoorsnyers, a private security company, told Maroela Media the robbers severely assaulted Fourie. They also allegedly threatened to stab a toddler in the house with a knife. They soon fled with cellphones and cash.

Unlike Engelbrecht’s version, according to Otto, police information reported no injuries. There were no shots fired, she said.

According to Engelbrecht Die Spoorsnyers were at the scene shortly after the incident and followed the suspects’ tracks. The suspects managed to disappear into the town as the farm is very close to town.

Otto confirmed that no one has been arrested yet.

A case of armed robbery is being investigated.
