Two Farmers from Hattingspruit Shot during armed robbery
Farmer murdered in Eastern Cape

Another Farm attack on Monday June 20, 2016. Two brothers, Arnold Goest 45 years old was shot in the neck and back and his brother Elco 53 years old was shot in the leg. It is apparently an armed robbery that happened on the Wild Duck Valley farm. Both of the wives Karen and Metta were tied up during the incident.

The suspects fled with Arnold’s whit single cab, Toyota Hilux pickup, registration number, NGL3768. Both the Hattingspruit and Dundee Police and farmers in that area are responding.

The two brothers have been transported to a hospital.

In another incident on Sunday June 19th Chris and Mette were attacked on a farm in Murraysburg. Chris was beating with a hammer during the attack. Both were transported to hospital.

The police have placed three suspects, two males and a woman in custody after being caught in possession of stolen items during the incident.

Once again, the criminal elements continue their attacks against farmers and their families. Armed robbery and violence is the norm. Perpetrators, either shoot the victims or massacre them with hammers and other dangerous objects. Farm attacks are not isolated and happen all over South Africa.
Every day this week we have heard about a farm attack, and the ongoing violence generated toward farmers. It is indeed sad that the government have not taken action to stop the intensity of farm attacks and murders.
