On Tuesday afternoon around 17:54 members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to a farm in Esnembe after receiving reports of a hijacking and armed robbery.
Upon arrival Officers were met by an individual who explained that while driving his Toyota Hilux bakkie, which was loaded with groceries, he was accosted by three armed suspects who hijacked him of his vehicle.
The suspects drove with the victim to a nearby residence where they held up an Indian couple in their home. The suspects stole cellphones, a plasma TV and other household items which was loaded into the back of the bakkie. The victims were then tied up.
The suspects attempted to drive off in the bakkie but for some reason were unable to move the vehicle. They then abandoned the bakkie and fled on foot with the electronic equipment.
Reaction Officers conducted a search for the suspects however no arrests were made.
