Racial quotas in South African sport

Last year Front National SA voiced their dissatisfaction with the quotas in sport and brought this to the attention of the IOC and sports administrators worldwide.

The latest debacle in the Springbok rugby news is only that it is not newsworthy.
Hannes Engelbrecht, the leader of FN, said rugby fans are running through life with blinkers on and then suddenly wake up. According to Engelbrecht, there are people who have lost two critical points that were right before their eyes and did not consider the following.

– In 1994, the legally elected government of South Africa, the ANC acted within their mandates regarding the sport. This is one of the results of a hasty and ill-considered constitutional order within a multicultural unitary state.

– A Springbok rugby team that won only three out of ten test matches in 2016 is completely within the norms of the standards of the unitary state where achievement and merit subservient to “collective responsibility”. It is a 30% success rate.

This is also the accepted standard in education where 30% can secure a matriculation certificate. According to the FN, it is worrying that rugby fans are dissatisfied with 30% scoring, but totally accept the 30% prerequisite for their children’s education.

Engelbrecht said that only self-determination for the white minority would once again aspire to excellence as the western values. A western worldview will end the stagnation of the African value system.

Athletics, cricket, boxing has already been transformed, and nobody anticipated the national soccer team, Bafana Bafana, to perform. Just totally uninformed people would expect that rugby would escape the transformation. Rugby is already transformed – from quota players to quota coach to quota president of SARU. That is the reality today.

Engelbrecht repeated the FN’s political position and said, you do not give someone a gift, as done so in 1994 and then kick up a fuss about how the gift is used, such as the DA and multicultural parties are currently doing.
