Three or four suspects attacked Hannes Harmse and his wife on their farm outside Derby on the Ventersdorp road on, February 14, 2017 around 07:15.
The suspects wore balaclavas and after assaulting the couple fled with three firearms.
Responding swiftly to the incident the police and farming community began searching for the suspects but they remain at large.
The investigation continues.
