Five men have been seriously injured after there was an explosion on the sub-station they were working on in Richard Carte Road in Jacobs, Durban, this morning.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that five men who had been working when the explosion occurred had suffered serious injuries. More ambulances as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics were called to deal with the multiple casualties on scene. Once all of the injured had been stabilized on the scene they were transported by Rescue Care to a nearby hospital for the urgent medical care that they required.
At this stage the cause of the explosion is unknown however the Durban Fire Department were on scene and will be conducting a thorough investigation.
