Durban Hostage negotiators, Provincial Tracking Task Team, Special Task Force and Empangeni detectives arrested a 39-year-old suspect for kidnapping. The suspect was arrested at V section, Umlazi after the members followed up information about his whereabouts yesterday, 30 April 2016. The arrested suspect will appear in the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 3 May 2016.
Empangeni detectives worked tirelessly searching for the child, and information was received about his whereabouts at Umlazi area. An operation consisting of Durban Hostage negotiators, Provincial Tracking Task Team, Special Task Force and Empangeni detectives was conducted that led to the arrest at Umlazi area yesterday. The child was found unharmed and was reunited with his mother while the suspect was charged with kidnapping.
