A farm manager in the Vaalwater area in Limpopo was attacked and shot in the face on Friday, April 24, 2015.
COL. Ronel Otto police spokesperson, told Maroela Media Ian van Druten, apparently in his early forties, went to storage buildings on the farm at about 07:00. There he was met by an unknown number of men. He was attacked and shot in the face. Van Druten’s wife, who was in the farmhouse heard the shot and immediately called the neighbors and police.
The suspects fled the scene.
According to Otto, Van Druten was admitted to hospital, but he was not seriously injured.
The attack on Van Druten was one of many in the past month in Limpopo.
