Farm attack in the Fochville area

According to the Police in Fochville, a robbery took place on the farm Elandsfontein in the Fochville aria on December 4, 2014 around 17:15.

The farmer’s wife, who was alone in the house as her husband had left to look for the cows, noticed a vehicle at the gate. When she went to speak to the people in the vehicle, they told her that they were interested in buying a tractor.

She then went back inside the house to prepare a meal and as she was resting, she saw a man through the window. She also saw three other men approaching the house which was locked.

The men managed to enter the house by breaking down the back door and a total of eight thugs entered. As the woman was trying to escape through the back door, she was grabbed and tied up with a rope.

The men searched the house and demanded the safe keys from the woman.

When her husband arrived he was also grabbed and assaulted by the men as they demanded money.

They then took three firearms and R2 000 cash from the safe and fled.

As the police were patrolling round the area the next day two men were searched and it became clear that they could be part of the gang who robbed the farmer and his wife.

On further investigation the police found a firearm which belonged to the victims who were attacked on the farm and some money was also confiscated.

The men took the police to another man’s house where another firearm and money was also ceased. The men were arrested and investigations still continue as the police are looking for the rest of the robbers.
