Eleven people have been seriously injured after the taxi they were in overturned into a residence on Abambo Road in Hillcrest on Friday afternoon around 4pm.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find multiple casualties on the scene. Immediately more ambulances were dispatched to assist. The patients had sustained serious injuries and the Lenmed1 Aeromedical Helicopter was activated to assist with Paramedics as well as transportation. Once all of the injured had been stabilised they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for further care that they required.
At this stage the events leading up to the collision is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.
