“The FNB Run Your City Series will feature three mass participation road running events:  the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN (launched in 2015), the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN (launched in 2016) and the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN (launched in 2017),” confirms Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports.  “In addition to boasting an impressive prize purse, each event has also received overwhelming support from both local and international elite runners.  We would like to build on this trend in 2018 and will be announcing an overall Series Prize Purse in March this year.  We look forward to attracting big names, exciting racing and fast times in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.”

“The FNB Run Your City Series is however not only aimed at elite runners,” continues Meyer.  “Each event highlights the splendour of its host city.  Runners of all fitness levels are invited to partake in a road running experience like no other.  Look forward to spectacular routes that highlight important landmarks, feature magnificent views and boast with exciting on route entertainment.”

Mike Vacy-Lyle, CEO of FNB Business expressed how excited FNB is to open its entries for the FNB Run Your City Series for the 2018 year. The series comprises of three races namely the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN, FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN and the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN. The three races encourage families, professional runners, business owners and every other participant from different walks of life to run their city their way.

“What is most exciting about this series is the essence of the race itself; it is more than just running, we are effectively asking South Africans, many of which are our customers, to come out in their numbers to experience their cities in the company of each other. There is something beautiful about that, something very South African about it,” says Vacy-Lyle.
