One man was killed this morning when a truck and a light motor vehicle collided on the N4, approximately 5km outside Mbombela.
ER24 paramedics and the Provincial Fire and EMS arrived on the scene at 11h14 to find the truck and light motor vehicle on the road.
It is understood that the light motor vehicle had burst into flame in the collision. Bystanders managed to extinguish the flames shortly after.
On closer inspection, medics found the body of the man in the wrecked vehicle. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead.
The driver of the truck, fortunately, escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations….
