Amazing job by our Fidelity SIU team and other teams involved in the arrest of a suspect in Umlazi for the unlawful possession of live ammunition and possession of state property. Yesterday, our members were on the lookout for a Mercedes that was hijacked in the Umlazi M section. While patrolling, the team came across a house which contained many vehicles and various car parts in the yard.
Upon further investigation around the house, a male occupant of the house noticed our team members and closed the room door to give the impression that he was not there. Our teams gained access to the room, began a thorough search, and found live ammunition and SAPS pepper spray. Other items found on the scene included a car engine which was soon found to be connected to a Durban Central case for theft of a motor vehicle for a grey VW Polo.
