Six injured as two taxis collide in Westonaria

Six people were injured, two of them critically, when an Iveco and Quantum minibus collided on the N12/R28 highway in Westonaria in the middle of the night.

ER24 paramedics were on the scene at 3:15 am to find many of the passengers of the two taxis walking around the area. Two female passengers from the Quantum were found to have suffered critical injuries and two others moderate to serious injuries. They were stabilised before being transported to a private hospital in Randfontein for further care. Two women from the Iveco minibus had suffered minor injuries and taken to a hospital in Carltonville. A further two patients were treated and transported by another service on the scene. The remaining patients declined transportation to hospital.

The Fire Department and South African Police Services were on hand for further help and investigations.
