Nine injured as taxi collides with palm tree in the middle of Cape Town's CBD

Nine adults were injured when the minibus taxi they were travelling in collided with a palm tree in the middle of Cape Town's CBD last night.

ER24 paramedics, the Fire Department, Metro EMS and another private service were on scene at 20:37 to find most of the passengers standing outside the vehicle. Luckily most had suffered only minor knee and whiplash injuries. One 39-year-old female suffered a more severe injury to her knee and was treated on scene. Three others, including the driver, declined transport to hospital, however 6 male and 3 female patients were transported by ER24 and Metro to New Somerset Hospital for further care.

The cause of the incident is unknown to ER24, however, law enforcement were on scene for further investigations.
