Just after 16h00 on Wednesday Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to the scene of a collision involving a minibus taxi and a light motor vehicle on the R554.
On arrival on scene multiple commuters were found to have been injured.
An on scene triage area was established and additional resources were dispatched by the Emer-G-Med Emergency Operations Centre.
Five people were treated for critical injuries whilst six were moderately injured in the crash.
The injured were treated and stabilized on scene before being taken to various nearby hospitals for further medical care.
The cause of the collision and the events preceeding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation.
