Yesterday afternoon a distress call was received from an aircraft due to land at Welkom having an undercarriage emergency.

After exhausting all options to lower the landing gear, there was no other choice for the pilot but to conduct a wheels-up landing.

With all services in position, the aircraft landed and officials were on the scene within seconds to assist the occupants to safely disembark.

No one sustained any injuries.
