Man killed in a collision in Umlazi

A man has been killed and multiple passengers injured after a Bus and a vehicle collided on South Coast Road near the N2 Bridge in Umlazi just before 7 am this morning.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find carnage. A bus had T boned a vehicle on the busy road. The driver of the vehicle a male believed to be in his thirties had sustained major injuries and there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. Multiple patients from the bus had sustained minor injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

Traffic was severely affected whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.

At this stage, the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
