Man accused of hijacking beaten to death in Cottonlands

A 39-year-old man accused of hijacking was beaten to death and dumped near his home in Cottonlands – KZN.

According to the deceased’s brother, approximately twenty men arrived at their home last night at 22:00. They accused his sibling of a hijacking and forced him to proceed with them.

Four men returned with the critically injured man loaded in a wheelbarrow this morning (Tuesday. They dumped him near his residence in critical condition. His family thereafter contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance.

On arrival at approximately 11:14, RUSA Medics examined the male and discovered that he had sustained fractures to his arms, legs, and ribs. He also suffered multiple lacerations to his head and was demised prior to the arrival of First Responders. His brother informed Reaction Officers that the deceased was a scrap collector.
