Earlier this morning IPSS Medical and IPSS S&R were alerted to biker who had gone down in the Glendale area while out on a ride with friends.
The biker was found to have sustained serious injuries and was stabilsed on scene by an IPSS Medical Advanced Life Support paramedic. After being strapped into a sked, the biker was carried along a foot path for about 300m and loaded onto the back of a waiting IPSS S&R vehicle.
Due to the nature of his injuries and the difficult terrain the decision was made to activate the Netcare911 helicopter. He has been airlifted to a suitable facility for further care.
