VRMED together with LifeEms, Netcare911, Er24, and Mangaung fire and rescue responded on Wednesday night to reports of a collision at the intersection of Walter Sisulu road and the N1 offramp in Bloemfontein.
On arrival shortly crews found that a vehicle had collided with the rear of a vehicle that was stationary at the intersection.
Four patients had sustained serious injuries with one passenger still entrapped.
The patient was extricated safely by Mangaung fire and rescue.
VRMED treated and transported two patients to LifeRosepark hospital and Er24 transported two patients to Bloemfontein Mediclinic.
The cause of the collision is being investigated by Parkweg SAPS.
