A 43-year-old man sought for attacking his mother was arrested by members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) today (Monday).
Reaction Officers were contacted by the man’s family at 13:09. According to the caller, the suspect had been verbally and physically abusing his mother for years. He stole valuables from their Mountview – KZN residence which was sold to support his drug addiction.
On Thursday last week he assaulted his 83-year-old mother and threatened to stab her with a kitchen knife after she refused to provide him with finance to purchase drugs. Family members who were visiting intervened. Fed up with the abuse, the elderly female registered a criminal case at the Verulam SAPS.
Reaction Officers contacted the Investigating Officer who confirmed that the suspect was being sought for arrest. His family provided Officers with a recent photograph of the wanted man. RUSA Members patrolled the Verulam CBD and spotted the suspect on Todd Street at 14:09. He attempted…
